Verifying your email address

When you create an account we email you a 6-digit code to check the address is really yours. Here's where to find it, where to type it, and what to do if it's gone missing.

You don't need the code right away. You're signed in from the moment you create your account, and you can use the app for a month before we ask you to verify (sending invitations is the one thing that needs it sooner). The code doesn't expire either, so an email you find weeks later still works - unless you've asked for a fresh one since, in which case use the newest.

Find your code and type it in

  1. 1

Check your junk or spam folder first

The email is from Grassroots Manager ([email protected]) with the subject "Your verification code for GrassrootsManager". Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail all sometimes put it in junk, so look there before anything else. Marking it as "not junk" helps the next one arrive properly.

  2. 2

    Look for the 6 digits

Inside the email is a 6-digit code in a green box. There's no verification link to click - the code is all you need. If you've pressed Resend at some point, use the newest email: each resend replaces the code, so only the latest one works.

  3. 3

Type it on the verification page

Sign in as normal. If your account still needs verifying, the app takes you straight to the page that asks for the code. Type the 6 digits and you're done.

The short version

  • You're signed in from day one. Verifying can wait up to a month.
  • The code is 6 digits, in the email, probably in your junk folder.
  • Your code doesn't expire with time. A resend replaces it, so trust the newest email.
  • Resend gets you a fresh one any time.
